Listen To Yourself…

30 Mar Listen To Yourself…

“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”

― Lao Tzu

The other morning, while in the shower at 5:30am— and before I even got my day going…

I caught myself having full blown, drawn out conversations.

With myself.

I was already mapping out new things for my client, and listing out all the stuff my son needed to bring to his track practice…at 4pm!!

Nearly 12 HOURS later.

As soon as I realized what I was doing, I stopped, took a big deep breath in and reminded myself that none of that stuff mattered right now.

My only job was to just enjoy my shower.

That was all.

Instantly, my breathing slowed.

My mind stopped racing.

And my shoulders dropped as I began to pay attention to the warm water hitting my back.

That was all it took.

I don’t think we’ll ever stop having these moments, the mind is what makes us great.

But we don’t have to let our minds be in the drivers seat all the time.

Its so important to kick it out every once in a while.

Redirecting our mind rather than just letting it take us on a spin is what will bring us inner peace.

Awareness is what will help keep you calm and centered.

Today, just be aware of the conversations you’re having with yourself.

If they don’t serve you, change the dialogue.
